Knowunity is a community platform: it claims 30M+ students sharing 1.6M+ study notes, plus an AI assistant that solves homework step by step. Graduo is an AI tutor built on the opposite principle: it never hands out the answer, it guides you to it with questions, and it turns your own courses into study paths, quizzes and mini-games. Both offer a free plan. Graduo Pro costs 59.99 euros per year; Knowunity Pro costs 69.99 euros per year.

The real difference: solving for you vs teaching you to solve
Knowunity and Graduo answer two different questions. Knowunity answers "where do I find good study material fast?": its 1.6M+ shared notes, subject quizzes and AI practice tests come from a huge student community, and its App Store page promises step-by-step homework solutions from a photo. Graduo answers "how do I actually learn this?": the tutor asks what you are trying to isolate in the equation instead of isolating it for you.
One nuance matters for honesty: Knowunity also mentions a "Socratic method of questioning" in its AI. The difference is where the line sits. At Graduo the rule is absolute, since no tool in the app ever prints the solution to your exercise. Knowunity sells complete homework solutions as a feature. If you tend to copy answers the night before a test, that design difference is the whole comparison.

It depends on what you want from homework. Knowunity promises a step-by-step solution from a photo, which is fast when you are stuck at 11pm. Graduo refuses to print the solution and guides you with hints instead, which is slower that night but trains the reasoning you will need at the exam, where no assistant is allowed.
Which one is cheaper?
On the yearly plan, Graduo Pro costs 59.99 euros against 69.99 euros for Knowunity Pro (their pro-plan page, 11 July 2026). Does Knowunity also use the Socratic method?
Knowunity mentions "a Socratic method of questioning" on its AI page, and that claim deserves to be quoted. The structural difference: Knowunity’s homework product delivers complete step-by-step solutions, while Graduo never prints the solution at all. One is a solver with pedagogy on top; the other is a tutor by construction.
